School information & VCE results

The method, in full.

Clear calculations. Visible sources. No invented results.

Overall ranking: 2022–2025

Eligible providers have numeric median VCE study scores and official percentages of study scores of 40 and over in all four years. Each year receives equal weight.

Average annual median = (2022 median + 2023 median + 2024 median + 2025 median) ÷ 4.

Average annual 40+ percentage = (2022 percentage + 2023 percentage + 2024 percentage + 2025 percentage) ÷ 4.

Sort by average annual median, descending, then average official 40+ percentage, descending. Exact ties share competition rank: 1, 2, 2, 4. Annual rankings apply the same order to that year’s figures. The four-year result is not the average of annual ranking positions. Calculations use published precision; display rounding does not determine rank.

Eligibility and missing information

Every included VCAA provider with both numeric measures is eligible for an annual results ranking. The ranking includes published schools and other VCE providers; sector and school-type filters allow narrower comparisons. Blank, suppressed and unavailable results are never replaced with zero. Profiles with incomplete four-year data remain available but are not assigned an overall rank.

School and campus identity

Directory records are matched using normalised school names and localities. Common source abbreviations are expanded. Reviewed identity aliases can reconcile locality differences where official school address and contact evidence confirms the same school; those profiles link to the verification source. Ambiguous campus matches remain separate source profiles. Honour-roll records are linked only where a year-specific school name or an explicit campus-locality match is unambiguous. A separate source profile does not imply an additional registered school.

What these results cannot tell you

An average of annual medians is not a median of all individual results. An average of annual percentages is not a cohort-weighted rate. VCE study scores are not ATARs. Published academic outcomes do not establish teaching quality, student growth or suitability for a particular child. Admissions selection, student circumstances, subject choices and cohort size affect interpretation. VCAA advises that SSCAI is intended to describe school programs and pathways and cannot be used to derive statewide data; these editorial ranks compare available provider records and are not statewide student statistics or a VCAA endorsement.

Subject counts

The Quppa archive supplies published 40–50 score counts. A student may contribute multiple subject results. Publication consent affects coverage. No subject success rate is calculated without a compatible complete denominator. A missing subject entry is not a verified zero.

Directory and fees

Sector, school type and address fields use the 2025 Victorian Department of Education directory. Religious affiliation, fees and median ATAR are not inferred. Fee filters use the verified subset of 2026 domestic Year 12 tuition schedules, with compulsory levies shown separately. Coverage counts are displayed; unverified fees are excluded from price bands.

Updates and corrections

Results cover 2022–2025. Sources were collected on 4 November 2026. Original suppression markers and source rows remain on annual pages. Source corrections require rebuilding the rankings; the methodology and matching audit are versioned with the site.
